Our Story
Kunming Diamonds’ journey unfolds over three decades - founded in the 1980s by Ajay Maheshwari (Jakhotia). It is through his visionary nature and courage that continues to flourish the Kunming Diamonds Group.
Today, Kunming Diamonds have become one of the world’s leading colored diamond trading house, authorized partner of Argyle Pink Diamonds and proud owner of The Everlastings Collection.
History
Ajay Maheshwari (Jakhotia), during the many international trips that he made while building his company, he fell in love with the city of Hong Kong and decided to settle there in 1987, establishing Kunming Diamonds. He started his career as a coloured gemstone wholesaler and transitioned into natural coloured diamonds in the early 2000s.
Renowned for his expertise in rare and exotic gemstones, Ajay has cultivated one of the largest varieties and collections of its kind.

Leadership
The leadership team of Kunming Diamonds’ comprises of the second generation of the family, who are strongly committed to the passion and values of the company.
Harsh Maheshwari
Executive Director
Harsh is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and the International University of Monaco. Since 2011, Harsh leads the business development and sales for Kunming and has become a familiar face in the industry in his own right. He is a GIA certified Graduate Gemmologist.
Shubham Maheshwari
Marketing Director
Shubham holds a marketing degree from the Pennsylvania State University and Imperial College of London. He joined the company in 2019 and heads the marketing and digital transformation across the global offices. He has completed the GIA Graduate Diamonds and Applied Jewelry Professional course.
